A 'Dangerous' HTV Project

I think I have mentioned before that my youngest daughter, Phoebe, became involved in Roller Derby just over a year ago.  She started off in the junior league last summer, then in January she tried out for the adult league of the Denver Roller Dolls.  She was successful and became a 'baby doll' - which meant that she had to attend a number of training's/practices and learn certain skills before she could 'test-up' to be on one of the four Denver teams.  Last week, she did just that testing up to A- status.  This means she can be drafted to a team, and scrimmage with them - she is not yet allowed to bout at Roller Derby events.

So she tells me she needs a couple of shirts to scrimmage in, with her derby name ('Shebe Dangerous') and number on - TODAY!  Thank goodness I try to keep black and white heat transfer vinyl on hand, and my Cameo is ready to go at a moments notice.  The font I used for this is called 'Wanted', the HTV is cut using the Silhouette recommended settings for vinyl (with the exception of my blade being on a depth of 2).

Here are the finished shirts.

WAY TO GO PHOEBE!

Tickle My Funny Bone - the challenge I forgot!

A couple of weeks back the challenge on Mo's Challenge Blog was "Tickle My Funny Bone".  I loved this theme, so set about colouring some of her cute images with my ProMarkers .  I actually made up 4 different cards with 3 of Mo's images and a paper pack I bought from Target, (you know the 99c ones.)  I couldn't decide which one to photograph and post, so set about doing something else and then promptly forgot about it.  Here are the cards that I made.

Inside this one (sorry about my lavatorial sense of humour!)

And here are the last two.

Then & Now - Digital LO

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, (insert embarrassed face here) - things have been quite hectic.  Last week I was having floors refinished so had to move into a hotel for a few days.  Not quite as luxurious as it sounds, especially as I was sharing with my 18 year old and my dog (my husband picked a good time to go out of town on business.)  All I can say this thank goodness for screw-top wine bottles (I forgot to take a corkscrew!) red solo cups and take-out.

Well, I'm back home now (house is still a mess,) and I thought that it was about time I posted on my poor neglected blog.  As I said in a previous post I am starting to dabble in the digital world, and much to my surprise I love it.  I have been taking an online class at http://www.jessicasprague.com/ called 'Up and Running with Photoshop'.  It is so much fun, and so easy to follow.  Here is one of the layouts I made.

This really was fairly simple to do, this page is part of the course materials you can download so all I had to do was add photos, journalling and some dates.

I can't wait to do more lessons and learn more stuff.  I am already drooling over some digital paper packs that are available online.

Thanks for stopping by - I promise not to leave it so long until next time.

Dabbling with digital

Inspired by my friend Sabrina over on Sabriolet Designs, I decided to dabble with some digital scrap booking.  She has done a couple of digital pages, and put some digital elements on other layouts and they look great.  I am not quite as brave as her, so I opted to use a 'quickpage'.  With quickpages all the hard work is already done for you, all you have to do is add photos and some journaling.

I have Photoshop, so all I needed were simple step by step instructions - these I found at Jessica Spragues website.  She offers a free class, with all the digital materials you need to complete a page.  I think the class is about 15 minutes long and is super easy to follow along with.  Here is my page.

I am so very happy with the way that it turned out.  I can't wait to try another quick page - may be eventually I will be brave enough to try designing my own layouts.

Thanks for stopping by.

Attitude Is Everything Card

Decided to step a little bit out of my 'comfort zone' with my ProMarkers today and use colours that I don't normally gravitate towards.  I reached for 'Mandarin' and 'Bright Green' - what do you think?

I haven't coloured dark skin much either, but found a great tutorial here from the Letraset website.  I'm quite pleased with the way this turned out (but then again it is hard not to fall in love with these Mo's images.)

Thanks for taking a peek.

Family Story - Floating Frame and FREE FILE

Happy National Scrapbooking Day to you all.  Today I decided to take a new file from Kelleigh Ratzlaff's Designs, that would be great for scrapbooking and use for a home decor project instead.  This file is FREE and is available on Kelleigh's Facebook Design Page.

Sorry that this isn't the greatest photo, I've discovered taking photos of a floating frame is quite difficult :(

The swirls are files from the Silhouette online store.  Everything was cut on my Cameo, using the preselected settings for vinyl (I upped my blade setting to 2).  As always with Kelleigh's files, this was super easy to work with, the only difficult thing about it it was transferring it to the glass (note to self "Don't be cheap, buy proper transfer tape - especially for smaller lettering.")

Don't forget to check out Kelleigh's files at The Digi Chick for a special May 'Grab Bag' and 30% off in her store.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Live Out Loud Card

I had originally intended to make a card for Kymberlee's challenge over on Paper Craft Weekend Challenge.  Her challenge was to create anything with a MONOCHROME theme.  Well I started off with good intentions, choosing purple, and then I just got carried away with my ProMarkers and choosing more colours..... this was the end result.

I love the way the card turned out, and have decided to put it in the colour combo challenge over on Mo's Digital Challenge.

The paper I used for this card is from a 6x6 designer pad called 'So Sophie' (My Minds Eye), the sentiment is from a TAC set called 'Life is Short', and the main image is a Mo (love those images of hers) called 'Come Out and Play.'

Here are some close-ups of the details.

The flower punch is by EK Success, the button brads are from my stash and the oval was cut on my trusty Cameo.

Thanks to Kymberlee and Mo's DT for the inspiration.
