Dare To Be Sassy Thursday 169 - Feeling Funny

Hi Everyone

Today is my last post as Guest Design Team member over at Sassy Studio Designs, I can't tell you how much fun this has been and what a great bunch of ladies the DT are to work with.  Well, it's Thursday so that means it is time for another 'Dare To Be Sassy' challenge - the theme this week is 'Feeling Funny' (use a funny or witty sentiment.)  Here is my card.

The image I used is called Martini Pin-up Sassy, she is coloured with ProMarkers, the background paper is a file from Silhouette online store, and the sentiment is written using my Cameo, Chomas Pen Holder and a Lettering Delights font called 'Tall Girl'. Here is a look at the inside of the card.

The sentiment inside was also created with the Cameo using the 'Tall Girl' font.  I hope you will check out what the DT's have created and join in the challenge over at Sassy Studio Designs.

Cheers!

It's Not A Big Number!

Hi Everyone

Today I am sharing with you a card I made over the weekend - we had about a foot of snow, so I had plenty of time to hunker down in my craft room.

Isn't this just a lovely image?  She was drawn by the very talented Heather Valentin and is available at Lacy Sunshine (this is the official and only authorized shop for Heather's digi images.)  This image is called 'Anastasia with Poppies.

The image is coloured with my ProMarkers, the background is a digital stamp from SU called 'Pleasant Poppies, (also coloured with ProMarkers.)  Here is what I used: Red cardstock (SU), Olive Green Dotted paper (Bazzil), Blue Dotted paper (Teresa Collins 'Everyday Moments'.)  The poppies are cut from a Silhouette file from the online store with my Cameo.  Here is a closer look.

I also took some of the poppies on the image and layered them up using dimensionals.

The '50' I also drew with the Cameo using my Chomas Marker holder, using Copic fineliner and colouring with an Olive Green ProMarker.  The sentiment inside is created the same way - the font is by Lettering Delights 'Tall Girl'.

Of course the card wouldn't be complete without a matching envelope - the side of the envelope is stamped with a Hero Arts stamped called 'Long Stemmed Flowers'.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

  1. Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog - 'Layer It Up'
  2. I Love ProMarkers - 'Anything Goes'

Thanks for stopping in.

Dare To Be Sassy Thursday 169 - Paper Piecing

Hi Everyone

Today I am guest designer over at The Bugbytes (thank you Pam), and also at Sassy Studio Designs, where it is Dare To Be Sassy Thursday Challenge - the theme this week is Paper Piecing.  I took the image of  Katniss the Sassy on fire because I love all the flounces on the bottom of her dress - perfect for paper piecing.

The paper I used is actually Adhesive Fabric Paper from DCWV, and although I love the texture (it was perfect for this dress) it was a pain in the butt to adhere properly because it stretches!!!  Here is a closer look.

The image is coloured with my ProMarkers, and the sentiment is a stamp from an SU set called 'Word Play'.  I finished it off with by adhering some dyed seam binding  (which was a gift from a friend) around the edge.

This is how I finished off the back of the bag, which incidentally is a recycled Sephora bag - I am loving giving these recycled bags and boxes a face-lift.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you will take a look at all the fabulous creations by the design team over at Sassy Studios.

Enough to drive a cowgirl nuts!

Hi Everyone

Today I have a card for the Fetch A Sketch blog which is being sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs.  Here is the sketch.

And here is my take on the card, using 'Cowgirl Debbie' from Sassy Studio Designs coloured with my ProMarkers.

All the papers are from The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby), and the sentiment I bought from a Stamping show waaaaay back - knew that it would come in useful someday living here in Colorado.

I even had enough paper left to make a matching envelope.

Hope you will stop by the Fetch A Sketch blog and join in the fun.

Follow The Yellow Brick Road - Blog Hop

Hi Everyone

Welcome to the "Follow The Yellow Brick Road" Blog Hop hosted by Sassy Studio Designs featuring 5 new images from the Wizard of Oz.  If this is your first stop you may want to go back and start at Sassy Studio Designs and follow along to see what all the talented designers have done with these great new images, not to mention that there are prizes! I have listed the order of all the stops on this hop at the end of this post.

I love all 5 of the images in this new release, but I was secretly thrilled that I was allocated 'Evanora' to make a card with (she is my favourite.)  From the new film 'Oz: The Great and Powerful", Evanora (the Wicked Witch of the East) is played by Rachel Weisz and she has the most stunning costume - I've tried my best to do it justice.  Here is my card.

The image is coloured completely with ProMarkers.  Here is a list of colours I used:

  • Dress - Grass, Ice Grey 4 and 'Stardust' stickles to add some 'bling'
  • Feathers - Bright Green, Grass and Lush Green (more 'Stardust' stickles)
  • Cape - Ice Grey 2, Ice Grey 4 and more stickles.
I made a Center Step card to showcase this image, the tutorial for which can be found here.  The backgound paper is from a DCWV stack called 'Black Currant' (one of my faves), the image was cut with my Cameo using the print 'n' cut and offset feature, the sentiment was also done with my Cameo using the Chomas pen holder and a Copic fine nib inking pen (available at Hobby Lobby.)  The font that I used is called 'Harry Potter' and is available (free) at Dafont.  Here is a look at the sentiment on the front and on the inside.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have enjoyed seeing this card as much as I enjoyed creating it.  Your next stop is with Ruza.

Here is a list of all the blogs (in order) participating in todays blog hop, and there will be more tomorrow too, so check Sassy Studio Designs for details - and don't forget there are prizes.

Dare To Be Sassy Thursday 168 - Seeing Green

Hi Everyone

It's time for another Dare To Be Sassy Thursday challenge over at Sassy Studio Designs.  This week the theme is 'Seeing Green' - St Patrick's Day or the colour green.  Here is my card.

Don't you just love that sassy girl with her beer?  I used my Cameo to print and cut the image and coloured her my ProMarkers.  The background I also made with my Cameo using the Chomas Pen Holder and Copic fine nib inking pens (also coloured with ProMarkers.)

This is an easel card, so here is a look at it standing showing the 'sentiment'.

I hope you will take a peek over at the Sassy Studio Blog and she all the creations from the very talented Design Team.

Don't forget to join me on Saturday for Sassy Studios new release and the 'Follow The Yellow Brick Road' blog hop.

Matchbox

Hi Everyone

Sorry I haven't been around for a few days, but I have been busy this weekend moving my craft room from upstairs back down to the basement - it kept both my husband and myself busy all weekend.  My room was repainted, and we rearranged the furniture - now I have to organize all my 'stuff'.  I will post pictures when it is all clean and organized.

So on with today's project.  This is an updated file from Kelleigh Ratzlaff over at The Digichick.  It is a super simple Matchbox.  The possibilities are endless with this file, so many ways to decorate it.  Here is my 'take'.

I made up the actual matchbox in white cardstock and then simply folded a piece of black cardstock around it, bending the corners back to form lapels, added a red bow-tie and 3 little buttons.

Here is a look with the matchbox slid open slightly.

This would be great for putting a few little goodies in, it would be fun for Father's Day or even gifts for groomsmen, or a decoration for prom.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you will check back this weekend for the new release from Sassy Studio and the blog hop "Follow The Yellow Brick Road".

Dare To Be Sassy Thursday - 167 Going Green

Hi Everyone

Today is my first post as Guest Designer over at Sassy Studio Designs for 'Dare To Be Sassy Thursday'.  This weeks challenge (167) is "Going Green" - use something recycled on your project.  I must admit that I scratched my head a little at first - I recycle a lot in my house, but in my craft room not so much (shame on me!)  Then I remembered this.

I had given this L'Occitane box to my husband for Christmas, and it was just too pretty to throw away (am I right?)  I tend to do this with a lot of pretty bags and boxes.

I took a look through my Sassy Studio Designs images and choose Russia Honey, she is part of the Small World Collection - I thought she would just be perfect for this job.  Here she is all coloured with ProMarkers adorning the top of the box.

And a closer look at her, her hat and hand-warmer are covered in Tim Holtz Distress Stickles 'Picket Fence' to add a little bit of sparkle.

The flowers that you see are cut with the Silhouette Cameo and are a file from the Silhouette online store, I used them on top of the box and on the sides of the box with the gold pleated ribbon that I found in my stash.

Well, that is my project for today.  This challenge has certainly inspired me to recycle a bit more in my craft room - I hope it has inspired you too, and maybe you will join the challenge over at Sassy Studios and check out all the beautiful creations from the design team.

S{ick}?

Hi Everyone

It's a little late in the day to be posting, (I got side tracked with housework of all things!) but I wanted to share the get well cards I made today. The sentiment is from a SU set called 'Word Play' and was one of the main reasons for buying it.  Here is my first card with a digital stamp from Heather Valentin from Lacy Sunshine (the only place that sells Heathers original artwork.)

I have seen many tissue covers like this on pinterest, so I decided to make a file on the Cameo to save me a little time when cutting.  The paper I used is from SEI called 'Aunt Gerti's Garden'.  The image is coloured with ProMarkers.  Here is a closer look.

I am entering this over at Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog for the challenge 'Double Trouble'.

While I was playing (in between bouts of vacuuming!) I took a different image, this one from Bugaboo Stamps and made another card.

Hopefully these cards will come in useful and raise a smile for someone this cold season. Iam am sharing the studio file for this in the tab at the top of the page.  Thanks for stopping by.
