Dare To Be Sassy Thursday 179 - Hitting the Beach

Hi Everyone

This weeks DTBST challenge is 'Hitting The Beach' (use a bathing suit/swimsuit somewhere on your card.)  We have had some crazy weather here in Colorado lately - snow on 1st May and the following week lots of rain.)  So creating this card brought a little 'summer' into my craft room.

This card is a 'side-step card' - it is a file from the Silhouette online store.  The card itself and all the elements are cut using the Cameo.  The image I have used is USA Honey, and she is coloured completely with ProMarkers. The rest of my papers are all from my scrap box ( I love it when I can use up scraps!)

Here is a look at the card from an angle.

Come and check out what the talented design team have come up with for this challenge over at Sassy Studios.  As always if you use a Sassy Studios Image on your challenge entry you get two chances to enter and win a sassy lass of your own.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

  1. Craft-room Challenge - Use Your Scraps
  2. Use It Tuesdays - Anything Goes (but use your hoarded supplies!)
  3. Lady Anne's Challenges - Anything Goes
  4. Addicted to Stamps and More! - Make Your Mark (use markers)
  5. Crafting By Design - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by today.

A Little Fairy Fun with Simply Betty Stamps

Hi Everyone

Today I have a 'Diamond Fold' card to show you which I made for Simply Betty Stamps Facebook Fan Challenge.  The image is called 'Lilliana', and she is available free to facebook fans who use her to take part in the challenge, details of how to get her are here.

This month is a colour combo challenge - you have to use white, yellow, orange and black - other than that the 'sky's the limit.'  Here is my card.

I used my Cameo to print and cut the image, and then coloured her with ProMarkers and adding a little 'Star Dust' stickles on the wings.  I used various Elizabeth Craft Design Dies for the embellishments (small leafy swirl, butterfly and fuchsias.) You can find a great tutorial to make a 'Diamond Fold' card here.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

  1. Crafty Catz - A Fancy Fold or Two
  2. Digi Haven - Butterflies
  3. Five Simple Things -  Anything Goes
  4. Polkadoodles - To Die For
  5. Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
  6. Wags n Whiskers - Anything Goes
  7. Celebrate the Occasion - use a Butterfly
  8. Through the Craftroom Door - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by today.

Make A Wish Blog Hop - Sassy Studio Designs New Release

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the "Make A Wish" blog hop, featuring all the new releases from Sassy Studio Designs.  You should have arrived here from Mary's blog, but if this is your first stop and you want to see all the beautiful projects from the Design Team you can begin the hop here.

The theme for this hop is anything goes, but must include a wish sentiment.  The image I used from the release is Snow Pin-Up - how cute is she?  I am combining two new products for this blog hop, as well as 'Snow' I am using a brand new template from Kelleigh Ratzlaff called Sassy Purse (with a name like that I just had to use it didn't I?)  Here is a look at my project.

This is actually the front of the purse (the flap) which I have decorated with swirls and roses (made using Elizabeth Crafts dies.)  Obviously I am using what would traditionally be the backside of the purse for my main decoration - but this is such a cute/versatile little bag, I really think anything goes.

So what about the "wish sentiment"?  That is inside - I warn you that it is a bit naughty, so if you blush easily don't look at the next picture :)

Here is a little look at the 'goodies' I am enclosing.

Thank you for stopping by today and checking out my project.  I hope I have inspired you to get creative (or at least made you smile) I would love it if you would leave a comment for a chance to win the 'Snow Pin-Up' for yourself.

Your next stop is with the extremely talented Ruza Rebel (that name says it all, you know you are in for a treat when you visit her blog!)

Here is a list of all the stops (in order) along your way - and don't forget to join us for the PARTY tonight on the blog at 7.00pm (PST)

Dare To Be Sassy Thursday 178 Celebrate the New Grad

Hi Everyone

Welcome to another Dare To Be Sassy Thursday Challenge over at Sassy Studios - the theme this week is 'Celebrating The new Grad'.  I was really slow to get going with his project, probably because there were 3 graduation cards I had to make.  There are some fabulous graduation images in the Sassy Studio Store, but I wanted to go with something a little different so decided to use Scarecrow Sassy from the last release.

This cookie box is from an online file from the Silhouette online store, the paper is from K&Company.  I also used the Cameo to print and cut the image, and then coloured her with ProMarkers.

Finally I used the Cameo to make the tag, using a Silhouette Cameo Sketch Pen and the Lettering Delights Thin Font 'Hearth'.

If you look closely you can see that I actually baked cookies to put inside - my youngest daughter who is home from uni was thrilled at getting to eat the 'extras'.

I hope you will join us for this challenge, and don't forget to check out all the projects that the talented DT have made over at Sassy Studios.

See you next time.

Here is the card I created for this challenge.

I created this for my daughters BFF Lexie who graduated last week and will be going to graduate school in France next year (hence the French flag as a background.)

I used my Cameo to Print n cut the image, and coloured her with ProMarkers.  The sentiment is from a file from the Silhouette online store (I actually cut it out in vinyl!)  The flowers are made using a die from Elizabeth Crafts.

So what are you waiting for?  Hurry on over to Paper Craft Planet - take a peek at the the rules and find out how to grab your freebie so you can join in the fun.

Dare To Be Sassy Thursday #177 - Black and White with a Pop of Colour

Hi Everyone

Today I am guest designer over at The Bugbytes, thank you as always Pam for allowing me to play at 'your house'.  As it's Thursday, it is also time for another Dare To Be Sassy Thursday challenge over at Sassy Studios -this week the challenge is to use black and white with a pop of colour.  I loved making this card because this is a fabulous image and is from one of my all time favourite films.

I decided to make this a twisted circular easel card, and used my Cameo to cut out all the card base and background circles.  There is a great tutorial for Twisted Circular Easel Cards here.  As always i used my ProMarkers for the colouring, or more aptly in this case 'shading'.

Of course I had to pay further tribute to the movie with the sentiment, and add a little bling for my 'pop' colour.

Finished it off with a matching envelope.

Please come and join in over at Sassy Studios, the design team have made some wonderful creations to inspire you.

Until next time.

London Skyline Canvas - Vinyl

Hi Everyone

Just popping in for a quick post today to show you what I did with my recently acquired vinyl from Craft Vinyl - if you need to buy vinyl I would definitely recommend trying here first, Nick has very competitive prices and super speedy shipping.

In our kitchen we have a frosted glass dry erase board (like this one) which has been crying out for something behind it.  So out came the trusty Cameo and my vinyl, and this is what I came up with.

Both the Union Jack and the London Skyline are files from the online Silhouette store - all I needed to do was resize them to fit on the 16" x 20" canvas.  Here are a couple of close-ups (please excuse all the air-bubbles, which were removed before putting the canvas on the wall.)

Here is a picture of the canvas in situ behind the glass - not great photos because of the reflection, but you get the idea.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Dare To Be Sassy Thursday 176 - April Showers Bring May Flowers

Hi Everyone

Time for another Dare To Be Sassy Thursday Challenge over at Sassy Studios - this week the theme is 'April Showers Bring May Flowers' (use flowers on your project.)  Here is the card I came up with using 'Carrie Sassy'.

She is coloured using ProMarkers, and all the background papers are from a a stack called 'Blush' (Jen Allyson for Lost and Found.) I decided to use the paper to paper piece her dress (I love paper piecing!) The flowers I made from  a file from the Silhouette online store, and the leafy swirls are are die from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I hope you will check out all the projects from the other Sassy Designers (they are a very talented bunch) and join in with the challenge for a chance to grab a couple of sassy images of your own.

Thanks for stopping by.

Dare To Be Sassy Thursday 175 - Kentucky Derby

Hi Everyone

There is a new challenge over at Sassy Studio Designs for Dare to Be Sassy Thursday - 'Kentucky Derby'.  I started looking at images of the Kentucky Derby, and knew almost immediately what I wanted to do.

I just had to use Theodora and put her in some bright clothes and pink hat so she would feel right at home with all those fashionable ladies at the races.  The way she is holding up her hand just made me think that she is trying to stop you in your tracks, and that's how I came up with the sentiment.

Well that having been said I had to include a recipe for the traditional beverage of Churchill Downs.

Theodora was cut using the print 'n' cut feature on my Cameo and coloured with ProMarkers.  The paper is from Colorbok and is called 'English Moss'.

Don't forget to check out all the DT's creations over at Sassy Studio Designs.  Until next time.
