White Elegance - Silhouette Box and Card

Hi Everyone

I have been looking at some very pretty cards on Pinterest which have been made completely with white cardstock.  They look so very elegant that I decided to make one myself - easy right?  No stressing over matching papers!  I need a thank you card for a friend, and I also have a little gift for her, so I made a box as well.  Here first of all is the box.

This Silhouette Box is a brand new file released by Kelleigh Ratzlaff and available at The Digichick.  After cutting out the file with my Cameo, it was super easy to put together and embellish with flowers and leaves (files from the Silhouette online store), butterflies (MS punch) and a few 'pearls'.

Here's a view of the box from the side - such elegant lines.

Here is the card that I made to go with it.

The background of the card was embossed with a sizzix folder, the window, shutters and window box are all from dies by Poppystamps.

All the embellishments are punches - flowers (Marvy), leaves (McGill) and butterfly (MS).  Once again I add ed a few pearls to give it a little more dimension.

Thanks for stopping by today.

What's Cookin' Good Lookin'?

Hi Everyone

We've had a couple of snowy days here in Colorado - and whilst it looks beautiful, it is not the kind of weather that I enjoy going out in.  So yesterday I 'hunkered down' in my craftroom to play and this is what I came up with.

This image is from a store called  Lacy Sunshine, by the very talented artist Heather Valentin - her images are adorable, how come I've only just discovered her?????  This image is called 'Chef Lola' she is one of the retiring digis (only $1.00) and she is coloured completely with my ProMarkers.  I used the print and cut feature on my Cameo to cut her out and make the offset on the card base as well.  I found this cupcake brad in my stash and knew it would be perfect for that little corner.

I made this into an easel card, so that it could just stand up on its own and the full sentiment could be seen,  here is a look at a view from the side.

Here is a list of everything I used:

'Chef Lola' - Lacy Sunshine
Black cardstock - American Crafts
Pink Swiss Dots cardstock - Bazzil
Black/Silver Glitter Paper - DCWV
Sentiment - computer generated
Brad and gems - from my stash
ProMarkers - Letraset

This is what the card looks like when it is standing.

Here are the challenges I am entering my card in.

  1. The Crazy Challenge - Pink and Gems
  2. Ooh-La-La Challenge Blog - Sparkle and Shine
  3. In The Pink - Pink and Bling
  4. Joanna Sheen Challenge - Layer It Up
  5. Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog - Favourite Colour Combo

Petal Box and Mini Cards

Hi Everyone

Today I am guest designer over at The Bugbytes - as always Pam thank you for allowing me to play in your space.  Today I have a really cute Petal Box which is a brand new file created by Kelleigh Ratzlaff which is available here at The Digichick.

Here is a look at the box (before I decorated it up.)

As with all Kelleigh's file this box is super easy to put together - I cut this on my Cameo, folded along the score lines and put some glue on a couple of the tabs DONE!

Before you see the decorated box, here is a look at the stamp on the bottom inside of the box - this is from a Stampin' Up set called 'Circle of Friendship'.

I wanted to make some mini cards to put inside, so I searched through my scraps and found enough matching paper to make 6 minis.  All the paper is from My Minds Eye 'Lost and Found' and the stamps are mainly from a Close to My Heart set called 'It's Your Day'.

Then I set about decorating the outside - armed with more scraps and stamps, this is how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Diamonds or chocolate?

Sadly the answer is easy for me....good chocolate every time!  Today my project is a box that I made from a file from the Silhouette online store, that is made to hold chocolates, I paired that with one of my favourite images from Sassy Studio Designs called 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'.

The box is quite large - 2" wide x 10" long.  On the inside the box is divided into sections for individual chocolates, but I intend to take that out and just fill it with wrapped chocolates.  Here is a look at the inside.

The image is coloured all with my Grey ProMarkers - I also added a little black for the hair colour.  The skin is coloured with Blush and Soft Peach, I didn't go with the darker colours I have been favouring lately for skin tone as I felt 'Audrey/Holly' should be a bit paler.

Of course I needed to put a little 'bling' around her neck.  Finally I added a sentiment using my Chomas Pen Holder and a silver grey gel pen, the font is a thin font from Lettering Delights.  The sentiment says "Whoever said 'Diamonds are a girls best friend' forgot about chocolate."

The patterned paper I used for the lid is from Recollections, and I also used the same paper to wrap the chocolates that I put inside.

I am entering this project into the 'Anything but a Card Challenge' over on Glitter and Sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Birthday Lauren - Look WHO's turning 21!

Hi Everyone

Today I am sharing the birthday card I made for my daughter Lauren who turns 21 today.  She is a big Dr Who fan, and so it seemed only fitting that she should have a TARDIS on her card - those of you who are not 'Whovians' I have already lost - but stick with me :)  here is a look at the card.

I made the file for this completely from scratch using the Silhouette Designer software, and my Silhouette Cameo.  It looks fairly simple, just square and rectangles right?  But I also had to get the sizing right, not to mention the correct wording on the sign and the colour of the TARDIS - if you are interested the RGB value for Tardis Blue is 16, 35,114.

When you open the doors, this is what you see.

I used my Chomas pen holder and gel pens to created the sentiment 'Look WHO's turning 21!' and used the computer to generate the special message on the inside.

Last but not least I had to add an element of 'fun', so I mounted the TARDIS on an action wobble spring, (please excuse the mess on my craft table.)

The studio file for the TARDIS I have shared in the tab 'Files To Share' at the top of the page.

Happy Birthday Lauren!

A Special Valentine Surprise

Hi Everyone

Today I have a special Valentine "card" that I made.  I have been working on this for a little while - I couldn't make up my mind on the colour scheme but knew that I wanted non-traditional Valentine colours.  Here is the first look.

Not exactly a card, but I am pretty sure the recipient will appreciate it.  Everything is cut with my Cameo, the box itself is a file from SVG Cuts called Explosion Box Kit, all the embellishment on the outside are files from the Silhouette online store and the patterned paper is from Webster's Pages.

The fun happens with this card when you remove the lid - this is what you find...

This image was a freebie last week from Sassy Studio Designs, as soon as I saw her I fell in love :)  She is coloured with ProMarkers, and like I said I went with non-traditional Valentine colours just to mix it up a bit.

I love how the hearts just spring up randomly as the box sides fall down.  The hearts are attached to thin florists wire and taped to the back of the image.  With this image I tried my hand at dotting a background with the ProMarkers (sorry I can't remember what the technique is called) - I have to keep practicing.  I have decided to enter this into Dare to be Sassy Thursday challenge, the theme for which is 'Have a Heart', and also in I Love ProMarkers Challenge  'One for the Girls'.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Birthday Phoebe

Hi Everyone

Today I wanted to share the birthday card I made for my youngest daughter Phoebe, who is 19 today (I have no idea where all that time went!)  I have mentioned previously that she is into Roller Derby (big time) and so when I found this image from Sassy Studio Designs I knew that it would be perfect for her.  She has recently been drafted to a new team, their colours are going to be orange and blue (not my favourites) - so this is what I came up with.

Everything is cut with my Silhouette Cameo, and the sentiment  is drawn with my Chomas pen holder and the image is coloured with my ProMarkers , the Card Candi underneath the sentiment is also coloured with my ProMarkers.  Here is a look at the inside, (all drawn on the Cameo as well.)

Happy Birthday Phoebe.

So excited.....

I just returned from a flying visit to the mountains and discovered that one of my cards was featured on the Sassy Studio Designs Blog on the Sassy Studio Spotlight.  I am beyond thrilled.

Here is the card that I made.

Hope you all have a great rest of the weekend - I know I will, I'm floating on cloud 9!

My other booties are Roller Skates!

Hi Everyone

I'm taking a little break from colouring with my ProMarkers today and sharing with you another HTV baby onsesie project.  One of my daughters roller derby friends recently had her first baby, so it was an excuse for me to break out the heat transfer vinyl and play, here is what I made.

The sentiment and the skate are cut using my Silhouette Cameo, the glitter HTV I found at Joanns and the font I used is called 'Smiley Monster'.

Of course I couldn't have a baby wearing a onesie with a statement on it  that simply isn't true, so I made these to go along with it.

I found just a pattern for plain baby booties on the internet, knitted them up in black and added the pink pom poms - IRL they look so cute.

I finished the gift off by packaging it up like I did my last onesies, only using a single cupcake box which is also a Silhouette file.

Dance Like No One is Watching

Hi Everyone

I have another card today which I did for a challenge over on Mo's Challenge Blog.  The theme for this challenge is 'Lace and/or ribbon with a Mo Image.'  I have used this image several times before (because I love it!)  The sentiment was written with my Silhouette Cameo using the Chomas pen holder and gel pens,  the paper is from My Minds Eye stack called 'So Sophie', and of course I coloured it with ProMarkers.

I have this card in mind for a friend who I know will appreciate the humour - here is a look at the inside of the card.

Oh La La - Love is in the air!

Hi Everyone

I have been loving colouring with my ProMarkers lately, so I have another card to share with you.  The image for this card is from Sassy Studio Designs and is called 'French Maid' - I just love her (but then again I find that I love all the images in this store.)  I hope you will check out Sassy Studio Designs Blog, they run lots of challenges (for which you do not always have to use their images,) and every Friday they give a gorgeous digital image away FREE.

The challenge I am entering is Dare To Be Sassy Thursday - the theme for which is 'Love is in the air.'  Here is my card.

The image is coloured completely with ProMarkers, the background paper is from My Minds Eye (Lost and Found), the roses are made using my Silhouette Cameo, as is the sentiment (using gel pens and my Chomas Pen Holder) and the 'bling' is form my stash.

Hope to see you next time.
